Jersey Village Fire Department is proud to serve the community of
Jersey Village, TX. We are located in the northwest area of Houston.
We respond to emergencies related to fire, emergency medical,
rescue, and hazardous material incidents. In addition, we have an
active fire prevention program which provides public education to
area day cares, private and public schools. The Fire Marshal’s
office provides plan review and daily fire code inspections to local
businesses. Our department consists of volunteer and paid staff that
are both trained to respond to fire and medical calls. Approximately
82% of the calls we respond to are medical related which can consist of motor vehicle accidents, chest pains, seizures
and sick calls to name a few.
Our fleet consists of three fire trucks, one rescue truck, two
ambulances, one EMS first responder vehicle, two command vehicles, a
fire inspector truck, and a rescue boat. In addition, we have a
classic 1978 fire truck for events and parades. All this equipment
is housed in a 17000 square foot station house.
Every year the fire department engages in opportunities to visit
with the public. We have a citizens’ fire academy every year which
begins in January. This program introduces the citizen to the fire
service and offers them an opportunity to get involved in our
department. There are many volunteer opportunities from CERT
(Community Emergency Response Team) to volunteering as a fire
fighter. Maybe your passion is just to support our many projects. We
can find a place for you. Look for our staff on many citywide
events. We normally attend events like the spring fling and fall
frolic. Each year in October, we have an open house at the fire
station. Citizens have an opportunity to see the equipment and
mingle with our staff.
The department continues to look at advancements in technology and
is always looking at the direction the future holds. The safety of
the personnel we have responding to emergencies is our first
priority. The equipment our fire and EMS personnel have must be the
latest and safest equipment available to serve our citizens. The EMS
and fire industries are always changing for the betterment of our
profession and the protection of those who serve in these
professions. Our staffs’ protection is crucial to the protection of
our community, so we must stay ahead of the technology curve.
Currently the department has an ISO rating of two. This
classification level allows residence and businesses in our area to
have reductions in their insurance premiums. I encourage you to
contact your insurance carrier and make sure you are already
receiving this reduction.
Finally, I would like to thank our city leaders and citizens who
support our department on a daily basis. We are always overwhelmed
by your support. Please come to the fire station located at 16501
Jersey Drive anytime to visit, or if you have a question you may
contact us at 713-466-2130. You can also e-mail me directly at
